Probably other topics on this but cant find them after a scan of 10 or so pages.

Thinking of buying a Quest 2 as an intro to VR - does anyone have one, is it worth the money?

Also, is the smaller 128GB sufficient for general use or should I go for the 256GB? From what I've read, seems games are quite small in size so 128 should be OK.

I've got a Q2 256gb. The only thing I've done with it is play with the intros. It's fantastic, but I can't be arsed to buy any games.

Not much help. Sorry smile

I was thinking of starting a thread on these. I keep getting targeted ads for them and having looked into them they look pretty good.

I don't touch my Xbox anymore though so I'm not sure if I'd lose interest in the Oculus pretty quickly.

I have a quest 1. Although they are pretty awesome in terms of 'wow' factor, I hardly ever get around to using it. After you get over the initial novelty factor, deciding to take some time out of your day to immerse yourself in 'another world' just rarely seems to appeal. I only find myself tempted to play when I'm drunk and it's 1am!
There do seem to be loads of games on the Quest store these days, and lots of them sound pretty intriguing, but I haven't brought myself to pay £20+ for a game that I might end up playing for one evening and never again.

I bought two, one for me and one for the missus. As I was travelling and spending a lot of time in quarantine hotels i thought it was perfect. She tried it for half and hour and had violent motion sickness and spewed her supper up. So she doesn't use it.

I still do, I don't play it much at home other than for driving sims. But when I'm away and locked up I can use it to go mountain climbing, play ping pong with people round the world, do some boxing to get some exercise. For the money it's a great gadget. If you have a decent gaming PC then the Steam VR library is pretty good as well.

Games are a bit on the pricy side for generally not a huge amount of content but some really cool puzzle games and social experiences can be fun.

Interestingly I got it for indoor exercise. 15mins of boxing every day is a fun high intensity cardio workout and I'm sweating at the end of it!

I've also explored its use for other non-game related stuff. We've held a few work meetings with them - IMO doesn't bring anything to the party that you don't get with a zoom call yet. The mindfulness things are quite good and watching films on my own where I feel like I'm in a cinema is a nice experience. The few games I've played have been fun for sure but I'm not a big gamer.

The biggest issue for me is focus. I wear glasses for reading. The Quest is almost impossible to wear with glasses on, even with the extender pad thing they provide, and without glasses the range of focal adjustment on the headset is just too limited. Everything is slightly blurry.

This is certainly true which is why I ended up paying for specialist prescription Oculus lenses. An added expense if you're a glasses wearer, but a necessary one.
