Puzzled . . .

If our daughter in law calls my wife on FaceTime her I-phone rings but her iPad doesn’t

If I call her from my work I-phone on FaceTime the same happens

If I call her from my personal I-phone both the phone and the I-pad ring.......

What do I need to do so both will ring?

Presume the iPad is on do not disturb and your personal phone is on a vip list- as a wild guess.

I don’t know for sure but maybe that the first scenario is calling her phone number (via FaceTime) which only rings the phone whilst the other is calling her email address (via FaceTime) which calls all apple devices which are logged in to her email account.

How do I tell? Her contact in both of my phones has her email address.

In setting > FaceTime make sure both the email address and phone number are ticked for the options on how you can be reached.

But surely that would mean her devices would behave the same way regardless of which device I called from and it doesn't

Just compared devices again and:
My personal i-phone showed I could be contacted by both phone and e-mail
My work phone showed I could be contacted by phone (work e-mail added)
Her I-pad shows e-mail only (WiFi only i-pad)
her phoneshows she can be reached from the phone number only (will add e-mail when she can remember apple id login.

So it looks as if the calls are being made to her mobile number so how do I link that to a wifi only i-pad? Presumably there is some link over wifi between phone and i-pad?.

These are my settings on my iPad… Check to see if you have both a phone number and an email address listed, or just one or the other. Add the missing one, and see what happens.

If you’ve already got everything listed, I’m stumped!

Edit: this is a Wi-Fi only iPad.

I thought I had it fixed and both her iPad and iPhone rang if I called using either to her phone number or to her e-mail address from either of my phones but . . . .

Yesterday evening my son FaceTimed her and it only came through on her iPhone. B****r
