I'm sort of set on an iPhone 13. Current phone is a Huawei P20 that is now 3 3/4 years old, working great but the charging port is giving me serious grief.

£10 a month on IDMobile gets me 20GB that rolls over.

What would be the cheapest way to get a 128GB 13??

Looking for approx 20+GB a month. I'm guessing buying outright won't be the cheapest. IDMobile do a reasonable upgrade that I'm tempted by.

They don't: https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/refurbished/iphone

Looks like the cheapest deal will be with IDMobile ... £79 upfront / £35.99/mth for either 20gb or 50gb data (£943ish): https://www.mobiles.co.uk/apple-iphone-13?sort=tot...

Or buy outright for £779 and keep your current deal (£899 total)

Not a 13, but I recently bought a 12 for my daughter. In the end the cheapest way to buy it was just to buy it outright and go on a PAYG sim. I think Carphone Warehouse were the cheapest for a contract, but as they own ID Mobile which piggy backs off Three I wouldn't personally want to use them as the signal is rubbish here.

Plus I like not being tied to a contract.

Got a 12 for my daughter as well at Xmas. We went contract with O2, no upfront and £30/mth for a 100Gb/mth over 24 mths

Daughter took on a Sky 'deal' for 40gig a month. Anything not used she can bank and either gift it to someone else or exchange for store credit...

When I got one for my wife, direct from Apple was the cheapest method along with her existing sim-only deal from Sky.

If you want to pay monthly, you can buy from Apple with 2 years' 0% interest.

Most of the comparison sites (uswitch, etc) let you sort by total cost although no great deals at the moment. Around £950 total for a 24 month contract.

You could just keep your current ID mobile deal going and buy the phone from Apple, they do 24 months at 0%. Then you're free to switch your mobile service whenever you like if something better comes along.

Most likely dust and fluff in the charging port, a common fault. Clean that sucker out.

In fairness, some carriers are not ‘in contract’ as such.
You pay for the handset interest free over the contract length
The sim card is separate.

Buying outright and pairing with a SIM only deal is generally cheapest.

Know anyone that works for EE or BT? They get codes to give to friends for 30% off, weather that’s the phone and sim or just the phone or just sim

Have a 256gb 12 pro max which is £43 ish a month direct from apple after I traded in my iPhone X.

30gb 24 month sim only from Vodaphone is £13 ish a month.

Same phone, same contract direct from Vodaphone was £85 a month. I did get the discount / benefit of trading in the X but that wasn't for the £700+ I saved over 2 years.

Apple finance is through Barclays so your phone bill goes out in two payments, one to Barclays / Apple for the phone and one to Vodaphone for the SIM card. Really easy to do!

Done that!

The socket is simply worn so the leads are never secure

I tend to base them all over two years so it up over a grand eventually.

Three have it a bit cheaper, £183 upfront, 31p/m for 100gb of data works out at £927 over 2 years.

I found paying on Vodafone bill pay over 24 months €70 cheaper overall than buying outright sim free form Currys for a 13 Pro although their deals are changing daily.

Yeah, I did this, like it as it is a way to keep my credit rating and it doesnt cost any more.
