Making a home phone into a 'mobile' phone?
Discussion
My mum has mild dementia, she can't use a mobile phone, she has always struggled and is never going to get it. Has a Duro and can't even answer it.
We got her a special 'dementia' landline home phone with big buttons and pictures which she can use to call one of us and answer incoming etc. Her phone/BB bill is going up again so am looking at other options.
Her mobile sim has unlimited calls so would like to use that. Anyone know if there is a 4G/LTE base station/router that I can plug in a standard home phone? It will need to operate the same as her landline. I can only find them in the US

Ideally I would like to have a combined router so we can ditch the BB/phone line altogether.

Don't forget that landline phones should still work during a power cut - home routers less so.
Yes reliability is a concern, relying on a 4G connection is also something to think about. Unless I can get a strong stable connection, it will be a non-starter. There again the Virgin phone line has gone down a few times over recent years, took 3 days once to get it back up.

I’ve got one of these and it works fine, got mine on a trip to France so all the instructions are in French.

Thanks, that's the sort of thing I'm looking for, does it have a manufacturer details on yours? https://www.darty.com/nav/achat/telephonie/telepho...
do you need data too?
If not, similar to the French one, search for GSM Wireless Terminal. can be had for less than £50 on Amazon.
Search for 4G or 3G desk phone and there are loads of phones that take a SIM. They work on GSM or 3G, so do not need full 4G signal. They often have built in battery backup.
If you want data too, then search for 4G router VOLTE and that will bring up routers that support telephones via an RJ11 port on the back, so you can use your existing phone.
Many huawei routers have an RJ11 port for this as do some Tenda.
Hope that helps
