New ISP. Smart Hub & Wifi issue
Discussion
Hi all. Hoping someone on here can help please! Have just moved from Sky to Gigaclear, but still have both services running for now.
I've got a 16 port ethernet switch (as i have so many smart hubs and devices). But i'm having real trouble getting everything to work when i take the ethernet that's feeding the switch out of the sky router, and into the new gigaclear router. Everything just goes to s**t as soon as i turn the sky router off.
e.g I can;t log into Philips Hue anymore, all my wifi cameras go offline and the wifi dishes i have to extend wifi to my back garden and annex don't even appear as available networks anymore.
What am i doing wrong? Do i need to change the wifi settings to the new network in all my apps before switching the sky router off? Or should the smart hubs (hue, hive etc) just work with a simple cable switch to the new router?
Thanks!

connect a laptop/computer directly to the gigaclear and check what subnet it is on
e.g. 192.168.1.* or similar
do the same for the sky router it may be on another subnet e.g. 192.168.0.* If they are different, make the gigaclear the same subnet as the sky
What is supplying your wifi? the original sky or the new gigaclear, or an other router
if just sky, replicate the SSID and password on gigaclear and all should be golden.
