As per the title, I know how to delete tabs from a workbook, the problem is, they're not deleting.

The workbook is not protected.

Whenever I right-click the tabs I want to delete, and press delete, nothing happens.

Not sure why this is happening...

Any ideas?

Is it a shared workbook? Got a feeling you can't delete tabs if it's shared.

Are you sure the structure of the workbook isn't protected?

Review tab|Protect workbook. Is there a checkmark next to 'Protect Structure and Windows' ?

If there is click it and you may be prompted for a password.

Is editing enabled?
Sometimes i receive excel docs where editing is disabled, there's usually a yellow-ish button at the top to enabling editing.

Failing that, can you copy the relevant data to a new workbook and start again?

Could always select all the tabs you need and make a new sheet only containing them. That's what I'd do anyway

Can you send the file to someone/on another machine and see if the same thing?

If not re-boot the pc and then try.
