I Currently have a 2017 Macbook air and will be giving it to my daughter I need a new Laptop and was looking at the latest 2020 macbook air M1, or perhaps spending a bit more and getting the cheap Pro.

Ps all i do really is a bit of accounting and web browsing.

M1 air is all you'd ever need from what you've said.

There's very little difference to justify the extra cost of the 13" Pro over the Air. The 14" is a very different beast but rather more of a price difference.

New MacBook Air is just amazing.

I used to buy top of the range MacBook Pro's ( Im not a creative )
My £4K 2017 MacBook Pro get's it's arse spanked by a basic 2021 Air. ( Previous had death by wine )

I went for a 8 core/ 8 GPU. - and 1TB hard disk ( lots of old files to retain courtesy of HMRC )
Cost about £1300

I am simply taken back that a bottom of the line model is just so so good.

Unless you are a creative - you will never need the Pro. It is that good.
I mean unbelievable good. Almost every video on YouTube by the press said - it makes no sense to buy the Pro.

Now - the Pro has has a refresh and a chip upgrade - but the Air will just blow whatever kit you have into dust.

( Google it for yourself )
