Are you running PC or Mac?
I have a Mac and use an iPad, with a PC you can still use the iPad but its a bit more involved. Video for reference.

Sorry should have given more information.
I'm running a PC and I was thinking of something cheap like a 15.6 display (same size as laptop screen) similar to the below:

I'm not too worried on connection type, USB would be fine.
Thanks for the tip on the iPad, I didn't know that but I don't have an iPad and likely won't be getting one.

I've got two portable 15inch screens of different makes, one with mini HDMI connections and one with mini HDMI and USB C.
The big problem for most screens on the market around this price range is brightness. They can be really quite dim compared to a normal desktop or a laptop screen so you may struggle to see them properly if not inside.
The other issue (although less likely to affect the AOC you've linked to) is a power source. The AOC seems to have a daisy chain ability to draw from two USB ports on your laptop to power the screen and run the display but check that your laptop is up to the job. Other screens like the two I have take their power using dedicated USB C or USB connectors, and I've successfully run these from a powerbank in the garden. However, you may wish to check if your power source arrangements are suitable and portable enough.

I've been using an ASUS 15" for a couple of years now and I'm VERY happy with it.
Great bit of kit.
I use it as an extra monitor on my desk now as I'm seldom on the road these days.

They have cheaper ones, I had one of those but:

- Really dim
- Pale color reproduction
- Cumbersome folder to prop it up
- Plastic housing that showed cracks pretty quick
I have an Asus ZenScreen 15" and I find it excellent.
Comes with an iPad style fold over magnetic cover which doubles as a stand. It is no thicker or heavier than a modern iPad, and slips into a bag along with a laptop very easily.
It runs from USB C (for power and display) with no issues.
As per the post above, do not be tempted to buy a cheaper portable screen or cheaper brand, for the numerous reasons listed.

I bought one of these early in lockdown 1, it's amazing how unproductive you become with a single screen when you're used to 2! https://www.asus.com/uk/Displays-Desktops/Monitors...
It's not as bright and vivid as the display on my XPS laptop, but it is similar to the standard display on the work issue Dell Latitude.
For the money (even with lockdown tax) I really can't complain. I imagine if you want something to complement a high end laptop you'll have to spend a lot more, if such a product even exists?
Edited to add, if your laptop supports power delivery over USB-C (most recent mid-high end laptops do) this model is fine and it's a single cable to get it up and running, they do a USB-A version that presumably draws power differently.
