We're slowly starting to get our pup used to being out of the crate unsupervised, initially he was perfectly behaved but recently he's decided anything which isn't nailed down is fair game hehe My wife and I alternate days we work from home, but our home office is upstairs so we can't keep an eye on him all the time, so wanted to get a monitoring camera we could connect to an old ipad over wifi which we could then use to watch what he's up to.

We don't want to spend a huge amount - (a lot) less than £50 would be ideal. Not too fussed about being able to use it when away from home, but I guess that would be a bonus. Any recommendations?

For absolute ease of setup and use, I would buy from a brand like Ring:

https://en-uk.ring.com/products/mini-indoor-securi...

£49.99
HD Video
Two way audio
Motion alerts etc.

The Ring app is really good as well. Fully customisable as to what you want to view, record or be alerted to.

I used one of these:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-Security-360%C2%B...

Same as above tp-link unit but with 2 way audio

I have set up and used about 10 of the Ezviz cameras, indoor and outdoor - they all seem to work fine with my OH's iphone.

There is currently one in my attic monitoring a mousetrap biggrin

Indoor ezviz cameras you should get under £50, as often reduced at Amazon - you'll need a memory card if you want to look at historic images captured based on motion detection without a cloud storage subscription. OEM cables are quite long which is good.

Thanks all for the replies beer

Tempted by the Ring camera but read something about the live video timing out after 5-10 minutes? Not sure if this is accurate? I want to just leave the iPad on my desk displaying the live feed all morning without having to keep logging back in.

The tapo is a piece of piss to set up, has 2 way audio and has been entirely reliable in my experience (accessed in the house and while mobile). Motion detection and alerts are all configurable without subscription, you only have to pay if you want cloud storage etc. And it's half the price of the Ring one.
