Is there any value in old routers? I have a BT Hub6 and a Netgear 6200 lying around. Are there charities which would want them?

Generally not, maybe advertise for people whose kids are interested in computing and want something to play with. Otherwise thrown in the small electricals at the tip.

If you turn the DHCP server off, they can be useful as extra APs if your needs aren't too demanding. Similarly, disable wifi and DHCP server and they make perfectly serviceable 4 port switches.

We use them round the office as wifi AP's. When you do that they're also good as mini network switches for networked devices.

Not always latest standards and fastest, but if you need one in a remote part of the house or at the office they're basically free.
