Apple event scheduled for Tuesday 8th March at 6pm headlined as "Peek Performance"

I appreciate there are other, more important things going on in the world but as a bit of an Apple geek I like to follow these. Rumours suggest perhaps a new iPad Air/iPhone SE, desktop display, and a new Mac (likely a 13" MBP with the latest Apple silicone or Mac Mini).

Edited to change date....

Lots of rumours floating around about a Mac Studio ... pared back version of the FF Mac

An SE with 5G but a stubbornly small battery won't be much use for most people. However, if they offer an updated form factor for the SE (and larger battery) I could be tempted to switch from my 12mini - v.unlikely though

Last Apple device I used was I think IOS 4.0, the one you could jailbreak with a pdf document, so what's new ?

Hoping for an iPhone SE Plus. Got a 12 Mini currently which I like, but I can't get on with the size, and this could be a reasonably priced replacement. Heard rumours of magsafe as well, which'd be great as I use my phone as a satnav frequently.

Been eyeing up an M1 Mini for a while.. Can I justify the extra for a Studio?

Decisions!

Edit... Maybe not laugh

My new Mac Maxi Studio and Studio Display are due to arrive on the 18th.

Didn't got overboard this time, and only went for the entry-level M1 Max version. Was hoping for an all-in-one iMac, but this is probably as transportable as my old iMac...and will probably fit in the same travel case.

It's a lot of dosh, but I only swap them out every 5-8 years, and my current one is the top-of-the-range 5k model from 2014.

Also bought the Studio, to finally replace my 2013 iMac.

Now I need to find a screen, the Apple one being too small (and expensive!)

Recommendations for a 32-38” 4K or higher please!
Oh, and a decent webcam.

I’d be looking at the 4k LG Ultrafine Ergo 32UN880/32UN88A. I’ve even considered the new Alienware QHD OLED but being ultra wide means it’s a bit awkward for travelling. I’ve also kept looking at their small-ish 4k OLED 35WN73A but it’s over £3k.

I’ll see what the display is like in real life before deciding on whether I need to find another solution.

Btw, I’m currently using a Logitech Brio 4k webcam.

Not very helpful for me. I have a 2019 27 inch imac I was hoping to let my wife use whilst I got a 32inch imac as a replacement for me. Man maths rules.

I'm expanding the business, wife working in it, so would have been ideal. I think I'll get her a nice shiny 24inch imac instead whilst I soldier on with my 27inch imac. Such a hardship, lol.

I’ve been using the LG one since November and it’s stellar.

As nice as the new one is I’d want the height adjustable stand taking it to £1899. The LG cost me £550.

I’m a full-time pro photographer and the LG is plenty good enough for that (P3 gamut etc).

I have a nice Ergotron monitor arm for my iMac, so the VESA mount one is perfect, and does away with the base…and I wasn’t paying an additional £400 for an adjustable joint.

Thanks for the 4k LG Ultrafine Ergo 32UN880 suggestions. That’s exactly the one I have my eye on. I’m finding Amazon highly confusing as the reviews are always so variable. An iMac was so easy!
