I purchased the Samsung S22 ultra and with this comes a pair of the Galaxy buds Pro.

I have some of the normal galaxy buds, they are OK but nothing amazing. My company phone is an I phone and I spend a lot of time working with my havds and needing to be on the phone so I got some Airpods Pro when they came out.

These are very good, they are good to wear for a few hours with no discomfort. Noise cancelling is good and their transparency mode is also very good.

The Buds Pro also tick all these boxes and work with the iPhone so was giving my wife the Airpods as she has an iPhone and Ipad.

On the buds the ANC is just about the same as the airpods but the Ambient sound mode is rubbish.
It works as it should but there is so much background hiss it's crazy. With the Airpods there is just the slightest hiss but it's not distracting so I can wear them with no sound just incase I get a call.

With the Buds I can not do they because if the noise.

Is this normal, does anyone have the buds Pro and can test, just put them in and switch between the 3 settings.
ANC has the slightest hiss, when they are off then no sound at all but on Ambient they are garbage and if you turn the Ambient level up it just gets noisier.

Is this the same for others, or have I got a duff pair?

I have the buds pro, also free when I bought my S21 ultra. First, I would ensure the software on both the buds and the phone (galaxy wearable) is up to date. I don't use the ambient setting much but haven't experienced much hissing noise. Ambient just seems to amplify the background noise so I always use noise cancelling.

One very annoying quirk is that the software forgets your settings every time a call is made. I always have to switch on ANC and block touches for the best call quality.
