External hard drive for IPad?

Any recommendations for an external hard drive that I can load video footage from an SD card that has been used in a drone.

From there, I want to be able to connect it to my 8th gen iPad and then transfer the files from the hard drive to the iPad. (I know it won’t work on the files from the external drive so I will need to upload them to the ‘files’ on the iPad)

My only problem is power as I won’t have access to mains power for a hard drive as I’ll be out in the field.

Recommendations very welcome.

As I want a copy on a hard drive. The total files may get to 400-600GB which is too large to keep on my iPad

I use a 1tb Samsung T7 touch for my iPad Pro. I believe that if you want to use it with a lightning port then you’ll need the official Apple usb a dongle as the ssd comes with USB c to c and USB c to a cables. You may need an external power bank if the iPad doesn’t supply enough power as well. Be aware that lightning only supports USB 2 speeds so large file transfers may take a while. Over USB C the drive speeds are great.

P.S. the touch version of the drive has fingerprint encryption which works with iOS as it its hardware level but you need a pc or Mac to set it up.
