HI

SO I'm looking for a 50inch TV to use with a PS5, I believe specs required are something like 4k 120hz with VRR and HDMI 2.1 connection

I have seen the Sony X85J but wondered if there are alternatives to chose from

I could go uptown 55inch but the wall im putting it on is 48inches and I believe a 55inch is just over that (its on a corner so I could over lap by a small degree but it may well annoy the hell out of me)!

Any assistance appreciated, is the Sony a decent performer for the money, don't really want to pay any more, its strictly for gaming, Pc and PS5, film wise it will be used only for when im in the dog house!

Thanks

You don't want a 'normal' TV, you want this:

I have the 43 inch version and it's very nice, although I am not a huge fan of the 14 year old gamer aesthetic that they carry. Doesn't have a TV tuner, but I have a Google chrome cast in one of the inputs.

You want the OP to get a gamer-focused, non-pleasing-aesthetic OLED monitor without any TV function for possibly more than you'd pay for an OLED TV which offers similar gaming features (e.g. this LG C1 for £999)? If you're a Costco member you can get it for £949. There is a new C2 version is out shortly, but there'll probably be a significant premium (usually about £400) for the newer model.

Strange confused

I'm currently waiting for my Bravia to give up the ghost so I can get one, I'm thinking about encouraging the kids to throw something at it hehe

Thanks for the replies

That LG C class OLED is too pricy for me, was hoping for a 48/50inch tv like the Sony X85J , same price but maybe better gaming performance for a lessa brand, but looks like 50inch TV are not too common and i dont have the space for a 55 so Sony it looks to be
