MACBOOK help needed please
Discussion
hi
In the middle of rescuing 4 refugees from the Ukraine border - friends of a friend - who will be living in our home with us once visas are granted (hopefully)
We drove to the border through poland, picked them up and the plan was to leave them with friends in Holland, flying them over once visas approved HOWEVER I could not leave them, so I am staying here with them until I get the job done.
So, I need to keep my business going and was a 3-day "mission" is already and 8-day and could be a few weeks
Need a macbook - uk spec apple store wont deliver to me here in holland and dutchc spec macbooks have a different keyboard??
WTF can I do to get a macbook that I can use ASAP like yesterday, and what exactly are the differences please

Great job rescuing the Ukrainians! Hopefully you can get the paperwork sorted quickly.
Only difference will be the keyboard. If you need a UK keyboard quickly I would have a look to see if there is one listed on Dutch eBay or simIlar sites? Other than that have you got family or friends in the UK that can buy one for you and overnight ship it, be careful as you might get hit with VAT and customs duties when it gets to NL.

Very little differences tbh
I have a Thai MacBook Air and the keyboard is Thai/English
If you buy one locally Brand new it’ll just setup as any new one would irrespective of purchase location.
Keyboards may have minor differences (lacking £ for example) but it’ll still be present in the software etc.

Another option would be to hop on a flight tomorrow, cheap easy jet or Ryanair, get one at the Curry’s airport shop when you land and fly back. Not sure on flight costs at the moment but it used to be £30 each way which will be cheaper than paying to ship one overnight with DHL and paying the tax.
No need to stress - just buy a Dutch MacBook , the keyboard is barely any different.

You can usually spec it with a 'foreign' keyboard, might take a bit longer for delivery. I've just checked the Apple NL site and Brit keyboard is an option.
