Virgin media TV wiring
Discussion
I can now get virgin media and am planning to get their broadband. I am considering TV as well but last time I had virgin media installed it was a pain to get the wiring to the right place for the TV, then once setup the TV was pretty much tied to that location, I could not relocate the cable or even extend it, which would be a real pain with 2 boxes.
Do they do anything more flexible these days?

They will run a coaxial cable from the street to where you want the router or where you want the V box. If they are not going together they will split the cable, so may come in at one point then out to another. They usually go around the outside of the building, but obviously not always possible, if that's the case they will go surface inside.
You can extend the cable using WF100 co-ax, I've done this many times.

I work for Virgin doing the installs, you will get a drop cable installed to the front of your property, then depending on where you want the router and boxes, we will either run a cable around the outside of your property, and then in through the walls, and then coax from an Isolator to the equipment, or just go through the front wall, and run coax to the equipment if its in the front of the property, if you have multiple boxes, then we will likely split at the front of the property, and run cable outside to the relevant locations.
If you ever wanted to relocate, you can request an engineer to come and do it for £25.
