Maybe Alice Roberts is needed for this one but my recently deceased M-i-L had a Nokia phone and we'd like to get the photos off it for sentimentality reasons. They'll not be very clear from the 1.3 megapixels but along with a lot of other things I've been taxed with trying.
We've tried to Bluetooth to my lap top and to my Samsung phone but it says "Service not supported by other device".
We don't appear to have a "transfer cable" and the socket on the phone is different to most I've seen.
Any ideas folks?
Thanks

Can't you simply 'text' them to another device and sort it from there?

Any hint of the phone model will probably help

Just take a photo of it on the screen?

It'll be crappy but, what is it, does it really matter, and will that do?

Otherwise nip into a phone repair shop?

Have you opened it up to see of there's a micro SD tucked under the battery? The images might be stored there.

You've posted a picture of a phone with no model number showing and no picture of the socket. Please give us a chance.

Nokia 5000.
Quick look suggests it might need its own lead; could be mini usb but it doesn't look quite right.

It's a Nokia 5000, if you download Nokia Suite onto a PC with Bluetooth capability you should be able to transfer the photos off the phone.

Wow, hadn't expected as many responses.
Will try Nokia Suite however that seems to require a cable connection which we don't have. May allow Bluetooth?

You'll get a data cable off ebay for a couple of quid no doubt.

The phone connection sockets if it helps

emailing the pics would be a good idea if a) they had ever had broadband/internet and b) she had had an email address.
It's got Bluetooth but the Nokia set up isn't recognised by modern equipment.
Will investigate the cable mentioned above and seeing another Son-in Law (like myself) who has owned more phones than Carphone wehouse. He may have a cable in a dusty box somewhere.
It's just technology, how difficult can it be, laugh

Do you have full access to the phone? If so, can't you add an email account to it, and then send the photos?

I know Bluetooth is supposed to be backwards compatible but is it just that you don't have Bluetooth 2.0 drivers on your laptop?

And the comment was surely you set up an email account on the phone wink

To set up an email address on it I need internet, they've no internet access at the house.
Will see if I can take it home and try there. Ordering a cable will have to wait until I'm home anyway. (I'm 250+ miles from home) with this lap top hot spotting off my phone. The Nokia is so knackered I don't know if I can navigate the menus before the battery expires of course.
(Why do I get myself involved in these things?)
