Hi,

Not sure whether this is the right sub to post this. I read that 3 will remove free roaming for those who sign up to services post 1 October 2021 - instead of being able to use your call, sms and data allowances for free in Go Roam destinations, users will need to bay 2 for EU and 5 for Non EU destinations per day. I get this. My question relates to Pay as You go/ Pre-paid SIMs purchased and activated prior to 30 September 2021. Are these subjected to the same tariffs that will come in to effect from June onwards?

Thanks

sherman

Payg probably will but just go ask in a 3 shop next time you pass.
Vodafone also charge but I changed my contract recently and got 80 iirc destinations on free roaming as part of the package.
You may just need a new deal.

I can tell you this from experience. Three are shutting down old SIM plans that would have had legacy roaming enabled and "upgrading them" to new ones that don't. You get no choice.

I was told "renew/upgrade" or you will go onto a new monthly plan at £30 a month that does not have go roam, and your current plan is being withdrawn.

I left three after at least ten years.

Tesco mobile offer free roaming over all of Europe. Even on their £11 SIM, which I'm on. I've tested it in Spain already.

Three can FRO.
