Have owned this drone for a month or so - really love it, takes great pics & Video, and is simple to fly providing there's NO wind, it's basic but works great - which is what i want.

The limiting factors for this drone are the battery life [8-9mins] and flying range ~ 50metres.
I don't need the latest and greatest drone, so how much would an upgrade cost £ say for a drone with 15mins battery life [and ability to buy a spare battery], a 6MP camera, ability to fly in a breeze, and 100-150m range?
Is this upgrade even possible?
Would an upgrade to the above spec be 10x times the cost of this one [£30] or more?
Until I saw this for sale in local Lidl's I'd never considered owning a drone, so know NOTHING about them whatsoever it was a chance purchase which was a great buy.
Hope you lot can suggest a goody

I am about to order a Mavid Mini SE, cost is about £270 but gives much improved things over the above. Not sure if that's a bit pricey for you or not. Have a look here: https://www.dji.com/uk/mini-se

Wow that looks great, Does it come complete with controller, battery etc. etc, there was no info on the link above regarding this, what about spare blades etc, the one I bought had all these included.
Do you have a link for user manual?

There's quite a long thread dedicated to the Mavic Mini here

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

The Mini 3 is launching imminently so it may be worth checking out the prices of the Mini 2 as it's got better range than the Mini SE.

I got a DJI Mini SE to survey storm damage. Great pics and footage (but not 4K video like the Mini 2), 25 minute battery life with auto return-to-home when the battery is low, stable in 20mph winds; range a couple of miles and 400 ft height in the UK - an all-round great bit of kit. The combo kit includes 3 batteries, costs around 350

I picked up a 2nd hand mavic mini for £100 on FB marketplace. I use this alongside my Mavic Air 2 as a "quick to fly" drone if I'm out and about and just want to mess around. good for up to 500m flight without losing signal, battery life around 20 mins, can be charged via the cable while travelling in the car and small and portable enough to carry around in a small bag. no brainer

My head hurts - been surfing for all info on the Mini 2, It appears incredible to me what that thing is capable of smile)
TBH I was blown away by my £30 Lidl special, the tech involved is staggering to an old guy like me for ONLY £30smile --- I'd have loved to have owned this drone as a kidsmile
The mini 2 appears to be on a totally different level though, I don't think my expectations/needs would ever use it. For example If I'm reading between the lines correctly it also needs a smartphone and an 'app' [whatever that is] to use it?? - I don't own a smartphone, never needed one, my 15 year old PAYG mobile suffices, nor do i own any 'APPS'?? - oh well maybe I'll just make do with the drone I have.
The Mini2 cost at the initially suggested £250 was OK, [where do you buy it for £250?? its ~£370 on ebay/amazon etc??] but I'd also need the pack with the extra batteries etc. so about ~ £500 [ebay], and a smartphone and the 'APP' whatever that is, which is a little too much £'s for me for a 'toy' - Though certainly staggeringly Incredible value for the Technology involved.
I'd like to thank everyone who replied on this thread, you opened my eyes to all this modern stuff which I didn't know existedthumbup
I'll just keep my eyes open for a upgraded 'Basic' drone with some, or all of the abilities I'd like in my ideal 'Upgraded' drone
