Best smartphone for under £600?
Discussion
Keen to hear thoughts on best android mobile for under £600...
Must have:
Good battery (can last a day with heavy use)
Strong front and back cameras
That's about it really, not bothered about gaming, audio, screen resolution, storage etc.
I currently have a Samsung Note 20, which is fantastic. I think I bought a bit of a dud secondhand as the battery life is very poor. I'd rather just try something new than fiddle about with it.

Pixels look good....But seeing mixed feedback online re battery longevity. How are people finding this, are people ending the day with a chunk of battery left or needing to top up?
I've got the Pro (so not directly comparable) but easily lasts the day. Sat here now, after taking off charge this morning with 68%.AJB88 said:
I got the missus the Motorola G50 5G recently think it was only £169 battery is massive on it and its almost stock Android.
I run a Pixel 5 myself.
I've got one of those, just updated to Android 12.I run a Pixel 5 myself.
The battery is as you say huge, I have never managed to run it down to any less than 20% in a day and that would include watching YouTube for a couple of hours.
I wanted a phone I could use as a GPS all day in the rain without any risk of it going flat and ended up buying a Blackview ruggedized lump. It was only about £250, I think, and has been flawless for the last couple of years. It has a huge battery and will do at least a couple of days of really heavy useage between charges, and as a result its battery is unstressed sand has hardly degraded at all. Cameras are OK, but no better than that, and it is a real lump, so not for everyone by any means. But it does show if you go off the beaten track of Samsung, Google, Apple you can find some really targeted devices that are dirt cheap, and if their features happen to match precisely what you're looking for, you get a great fit for damn all money.
I know you've got sorted now but I bought a Xiaomi 11t pro for my Mrs last week (I've already got one) for £485. Currently comes with a free smart watch and earbuds, they are both half decent as well. If you buy direct from Xiaomi they knock a further £15 off.
120w charger is a neat feature, it charges so quick you can watch the percentage tick up in real time.
Flagship processor, great camera, lovely screen, sounds good and battery life is pretty epic as well.
For the price I'm very happy with mine.
