With the recent passing of our frankly excellent alarm system (canine version), we're thinking of putting some kit in to provide protection.

Requirements:
Switches off when all 4 family members are home, but arms at night automatically between certain hours.
Wifi enabled
Cameras and door/window sensors
Alerts to smart phones and records incidents.

So far I'm finding kit for sensors or cameras - is there something obvious I'm missing where you get both in a package?

Any advice?

Thanks smile

Do not go with Texecom. I like to think of myself as fairly tech-savvy, but it was a nightmare and never worked right. Ended up getting the pros in to reconfigure it.

Still not entirely happy with the overall capabilities.

Puggit- I know how it feels to lose one. But do not ever think the one you lost will never forget you. I've had my rescue for over three years, and she loves my house. Possibly because she (dog) will not go out till she #(dog) has emptied food bowl. Swmbo swears she had dog paws walking on her ,when I know latest one is behind closed doors. Last one used to sneak up and her favourite place was next to Swnbo.
Possibly a topic for an other posr?????????????
Solution - do as I did. Walk down to an RSPCA /Dogs trust RESCUE place and see WHAT comes out of the kennels barking at you.
I did it three years ago. Lexi chose us. We don't need a house alarm system. Film on TV says "I've got a DONK". I've got Lexi.

I asked something similar a few months ago. the two systems that were most commonly mentioned were Simplisafe and Yale

I haven't gone with either (yet) as ADT came back and reduced their monthly fee from £40pcm to £15pcm

Used to be with ADT.

Had a phone call that 2 tenders came out to the house - but all looked good.

Fire Marshall??? in charge not too pleased when I said ADT system doesn't have a smoke alarm connected.

I'm considering something similar, Ajax were talked very highly of. Higher initial cost but no monthly fee

Our Texecom system was fine and seemed fairly bullet proof as a ‘normal’ alarm system, but it was set up by a pro alarm engineer. If you want anything resembling ‘smart’, their solution to this is woeful at best. They barely update their app, it doesn’t integrate with anything useful, and allows you to do little other than arm/disarm from your phone, it really is shocking in this day and age.

I’ve seen boundary (UK company) get good reviews but haven’t tried it myself.

I used the Yale kit. Does everything I needed and was easy to install. You'll find that all the batteries die at roughly the same time, so you need a big bag of spares; no other issues.

I’ve got Ring, very straight forward, mobile backup in case of power failure, pretty idiot proof.

Thanks all - Well, in the end I actually plumped for Eufy based personal on recommendations elsewhere. Started with 2 cams, will add door sensors soon, and then a front door bell.

Eufy are owned by Anker, I have some great Anker kit too.

Imagine my surprise when I opened the Amazon box to find a butterfly garden, presentation clicker, lightbulb and hanging light fitting.

Ring alarm is great and so simply to use.

Costco often have bundles on offer for this too such as: https://www.costco.co.uk/Home-Improvement/Home-Saf...
