MacBook Pro Keyboard Question

Evening all,

Probably the most stupid question to ask about the MacBook keyboard but for some unknown reason, when I use option and 2, I get the euro symbol and not the email 'at' symbol. I've reset the keyboard but it hasn't gone back. This makes it very hard to send an email, can anyone please advise how to put this setting back? Google doesn't seem to know or I'm phrasing the question wrongly.

Shift + 2 will get you @

Option + 2 is €

Not sure if it's ever changed, it's always been Shift as far as I know!
