I am looking for a decent mobile device that is NOT a Pocket PC PDA or Palm Pilot. We have all had these bloody things over the past 3 years and they are crap. Always crashing, terrible networking and just so infuriating to work with – I need a keyboard!
I have been looking at the Dell X1 ultra portable laptop. Any one else got any suggestions and or experience in this field?
Much appreciated.

www.oqo.com/
Its a proper laptop, just use your own keyboard and mose, or use the touchscreen.

OR

Try a tablet PC - a number of the hybrids are pen jobbies until you swivel the screen, then a proper laptop keyboard pops out.

Bear in mind that both options will weigh a lot more than the PDA you currently have....

OQO is a nice idea but it falls down in many key areas, not to mention the astronomical price and the limited availability (Import only).
Tablets are just too big and soooooooooo slooooooooow, more of a flashy cooperate toy than a useful tool.
I have used a client's X1 and love the screen and quality keyboard. Just wondering if there is anything similar but better?

Bloke in my office has just bought an Archos PMA430, which looks fairly dinky.
