Chaps,
I have just used a PC with a new Dell CRT screen. Yes, one of those "Old Fashioned" big boxy things.
And I was AMAZED by how good the picture was. Verey, very clear, sharp and bright. Much better than on any TFT screen I have seen.
I made the CRT to TFT move about 2 years ago, and ditched my old Samsung SVGA for a Philips TFT. Now I am seriously considering changing back (new house = more space than in the flat 2 years ago, therefore more desk area makes this easier.) Where can I get a decently large CRT screen, and how much am I likely to be paying?
Oli.

Try getting one with a Sony "Trinitron" picture tube in it. Sony, IBM, IIRC- Dell and one other company whom I can't think of at the moment use them. Best monitors for picture quality I've seen.
I'm using an IBM I picked up for $65 used it works great! My H.P. monitor died in under a year.

Mitsubishi Diamondtron is the same thing - an Aperture Grill (or AG) tube.
I have one at home that's badged Gateway (but with the Mitsubishi name on the back) and it's a joy to look at after using a laptop all day.
You can tell an AG tube as they have horizontal lines one third and two thirds of the way up the screen which you can usually see on a plain light coloured background. These lines are the wires that hold vertical wires of the aperture grill in place.
