Anyone succeeded in connecting to a GPRS internet service via a bluetooth connection with an XDA? :)

Yes.

Try mailing Judas - he runs the Orange version of the phone and have seen him post on PH whilst on a night out.

I can use the XDA to access the net directly, but I want to do it from my laptop (and not dialling my ISP, but using GPRS as the connection).

The query I have is probably specific to O2. I can get the laptop to connect to the XDA, and to use it as a modem (#99* stuff) but it disconnects immediately despite using the username/password recommended by O2. Just wondered if anyone succeeded end-to-end...?

Hhhmm, I'm on O2 but use a Nokia 6230 via Bluetooth. The only issue I remember was having to use the O2WAP proxies on the PC to get anything working. I wonder what's killing the GPRS session? Can you switch the PDA to GPRS always on? Not a full time solution but it may give pointers as to the problem.

I can get a modem trace, and that indicates that the remote server is hanging up.

Possibly some sort of connection handshake is failing.

Some stuff here - http://64.233.183.104/search?q=cache:y8YAIpgjlWoJ:www.my-xda.com/downloads/SettingUp_XdaII_s_i_modem.pdf about what modem settings you need to use on your PC.

Thanks Dobbo. It's that guide that I followed. I'll have another bash tonight
