Hi,

My neighbour has just brought one of the new Sony MP3 players but she has all her music in iTunes.

Is there a way of getting music out of iTunes onto MP3 cd's. (She is going to transfer the music onto her MP3 player via her partners Sony Vaio laptop).

Thanks,

Phill

Are the songs in iTunes as MP3s, or as AACs?

Does the sony hand MP3s, or is it going to want ATRAC format?

If they're already MP3s, just copy them across.

If they're bought from iTunes, they're probably copy protected AACs, and no use.

If they were ripped off CD with iTunes, they could be AAC format as well....

I have a Sony NW HD3 something or other, there isn't a facility to drag and drop files. She will need to install the SonicStage software, it will search for any music files on her hardrive. Once it has located the files she can select which files she wants to transfer across to the player.

Yeah that sounds like the right one. Lack of drag and drop is a right pain! The problem is she has an apple so i'm not sure if the Sony will connect to it. Her partner has a Sony Vaio though. (We were going to try getting the music off the Apple onto the Vaio, then onto the MP£ player).

I've got an iRiver H320 - Works like a removable HD. Drag and Drop no problem at all and no software required! Love it! lol

Unless you burn them as an audio CD, and then rip them back to MP3's using CDex or similar....
