3 days ago I got a warning from 123-reg that I was about to exceed my monthly bandwidth quota. The problem was a video clip which must have been been linked to in a few places and was accounting for 17% of traffic.

So I renamed the file to stop this and hoped all would be well. Today I find everything at www.autograph.uk.com is disabled. So I rang 123 to see if this is a temporary thing - yes it is, my sites will be back tomorrow. So I asked the chap (at 50p/minute) if, since this was a first offence and I had taken steps to stop it happening again, they could do me a favour and switch it back on for the day as it holds not only my business sites but that of some clients as well. No, they said, too difficult, systems etc.

I don't like being held to ransom with no room for manoever. Should I grin and bear it or is it worth the hassle of moving?

I'm sure when JB surfaces he'll talk you through it and will help assess what sort of bandwidth etc you really need.

another recommendation for Jamie/Register1 and his support team.

As for handholding etc, email him and the response you will get will have all the information you'll need (more than likely, "yes, we can do that for you"

edit:: Podie, the base account at £49/per year has 1gb storage and 30gb/month transfer. Ample I should think!

Trust me, you DONT want Strawpedos!

They are a punishment imposed upon us by El Diablo Tony_996_bottle_of_strawpedo_on_the_wall
