possible power problem b*ll*cks? What have I done?!!?! *****

Since got some points on their way being extra carefull now & decided to use my Road Angel for 1st time in ages as offers laser alert (have been using iPAQ tom tom for few months)

With the screen light on, plus the bluetooth jacket listening away, the battery doesnt last long with the ipaq; luckily (i thought) I had a cigarette doubler cable that came with a bluetooth GPS receiver I bought a while ago. Ideal!

All fine, used both devices on Friday night. Both getting power. Arrived. Unplugged. Good.

Saturday, plugged just the ipaq in without using the cig lighter doubler. No power found. Had to run it with just the battery. Later that day plugged Road Angel in. Same. No power.. the red led on the power cable didnt even light. Just tried a spare cable now at home.. all fine so at least the units ok.
However.. the ipaq seems totally bolloxd.. just went to power it up using PC (usb cable).. no power recognised plus nasty burning smell

What on earth have i done ?!?!?!!

From another forum I gather ipaqs dont have fuses

Does anything else work from the cig lighter (phone charger for example?).
I'd guess that the fuse for the cig lighter has gone.

for some reason the iPaq's charger circuit went futt. Not worth fixing .. was cheaper getting 2nd iPAq off ebay. balls.
Ciggy lighter all fine, I'm told. hey ho.
