Just wondering what the simplest way to get one of these talking to my computer is. Can I just buy a wireless network card for my PC, enable windows filesharing and off it'll go??

There are quite a few on the market these days, so have a look around first...

I'm skint though. That ones only 90 odd quid.

Any other suggestions welcome.

I've got the Pinnacle ShowCenter. Easy to set up and it handles pretty much all media formats.

No complaints other than using it for Internet browsing (have a wireless ADSL router also)is a bit tedious because the remote does not have a QWERTY keyboard.

Other than that, a nice piece of kit. It cost somewhere in the region £150-£200, can't remember exactly..

Whats it like for watching video? Can you get it to play a DVD rip in proper (5.1) surround sound?

Primarily want it for accessing my music, it's a waste to have it all stuck in a box in the back room and only be able to access it on my ipod.

Honestly ? I haven't a clue...

The only movies I have watched across the network have been the odd Windoze Media file of dubious content And who cares about 5.1 for those

I use it pretty much exclusively for MP3s and photos but I'll have a scan through the manual when I get back from the pub tonight and post what I can find out (if I'm sober enough )
