My current car has a USB 2 socket in the centre console, which I use first playing music from a 64gb USB flash drive. It's a tiny Sandisk thing, only sticks out about 8mm from the socket. Almost invisible, and no chance of knocking it when getting stuff out of the storage tray underneath.

My next car (Kia EV3) has USB C sockets. I'd like to get a physically small USB C flash drive, but I can't find one anywhere!
They all stick out at least an inch. Fine if you want a portable device, but I want to just leave it in the car, smaller the better.

There's loads of these on ebay (same product from lots of sellers)...

Don't know how genuine they are...and it's probably no more risky to get on direct from AliExpress or Temu...

Yes, something like that is what I'm looking for.
I'd prefer a brand name though.

This is what I'm currently using:

I bought a USB2 to USBC adaptor so that I could try it on the test drive. The adaptor and existing memory stick combined are about the same size as that one.

Looks like quite a lot of the current designs are double-ended.

I don't think that there is a branded version. I've been using a 64gb cufflink style one like the one recommended above for a couple of years with no problems.

That "cufflink" style seems to be the only option, so I've bought one from a UK seller on eBay.

I then realised that my iMac doesn't have a USB C port, so another couple of quid for a USB A to USB C adaptor.

I have a couple of these:

Smaller than they look in the images at the link.

One key thing to consider is where the slot in the car is and how it's positioned. You can buy convertors that allow the memory stick to be inserted at 90deg to standard, which keeps them out of the way more. These sort of thing - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/386885350769?chn=ps&amp...
