Is there a way that we can force the use of a particular Configuration Script in Internet Explorer (IE/Tools/Internet Options/Connections/LAN Settings)?

Currently this seems to be set 'by user'. I have a PC that will be used by a number of different users - all using their own logins - and need to set the config script to pick up our own Proxy file which ever user logs in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm fairly sure you can do it via group policy, but if you don't use that I'd create a .reg file with the settings in - I think it's in "HKCU/software/microsoft/windows/current version/internet explorer" or something similar. Use notepad to trim the .reg file down to just the autoconfig script entries i.e. the script location and the one to enable it.

Then just drop a shortcut into the All Users startup group that does "regedit /s YourRegFile.reg" (or it might be regedit /q can't quite remember).

Alternativley, modify all the users login scripts to call a common one after doing the user specific scrips and put the regedit /s line in there.

You could also look at the 'Auto detect' setting in IE (google WPAD or Windows Proxy Auto Detect) but I found that to be an arse, and could never get it to work properly.

Hope this helps
