Plusnet's offer. Do I accept their offer, or look elsewhere?

£26.99 per month now.
£28.99 from 31.3.25.
£31.99 from 31.3.26.

We are still using a landline. Good idea, or stupid idea?

Is fibre to the property available to your house yet and do you need the landline phone?

Vodafone were recently offering 150MB fibre, all your calls, an Apple TV streaming box and an £80 Amazon/Tesco etc gift card for £33-35 a month, via either Cityfibre or Openreach, though it wasn’t on their website. Try asking a Meerkat for broadband deals in your area, then add Broadband Xtra to the base package after you click through from the Meerkat’s site. That was with a £2/year price rise over the 2 year contract IIRC.

Is FTTP available? Yes, um, er, I think so.

Landline phone? I think it would be a divorce before Mrs adoo gave that up (hey! That's an idea) Being serious - we are all going to give up our landlines, aren't we?

I had the same Plusnet renewal offer. £3pm increase = 11%+. No thanks

I've gone with an altnet 900Mbps symmetrical FTTP which I ran in parallel before Plusnet expiry. £26pm for 24 month with 1st 9 months free. Crap Adtran router though - best thing about it is wifi 6. They were quick to remove CGNAT on request for DDNS.

Another plus is no more cold calls from Dave from India on the landline.

Overall very happy.
