I've been given a TV I'd like to put in sons room for some streaming.

Other than Firesticks are there any cheaper or free download options I can get hold of?

Youtube/Netflix and if poss Disney are the ones I'd want to stream.

Have you looked at a Roku stick? Similar to Firestick but cheaper.

Had seen these, I think it's probably just a case of spending 40 quid on one of these two, thanks.

Get one with TV power and volume buttons on the remote. Having a single remote makes it feel like a slicker solution.

I have a Roku 4k stick in my old TV that's now in my bedroom. I never have to use the old Panasonic remote, and never see the old clunky UI.

Chomecast and stream via a tablet or mobile?

I think the new versions have streaming apps on them natively.

Remotes seen better days on the TV I've been given so probably not a bad idea!

You can't seem to buy chromecasts anymore

The only "Chromecast" device you can buy now is the new £99 TV box. I have it.

You almost can't give Firesticks away.

Take a look at local Buy/Sell groups on FB.

Be careful with them and (especially with) Marketplace, make sure you're not buying one that's been hacked for IPTV and all other hooky stuff etc

Bought a new fire stick and it's in, it has a few years life in it if ever needed again.

Something I can take when going away as well to hotels/airbnbs.

Do the Fire, Roku etc sticks support casting from another device (phone, iPad, laptop...) in a similar manner to Chromecast?
