I have not used it for ages but i can't connect to anything for some reason.

Or is it some kind of firewall setting perhaps?

Not sure it helps you but I ditched Kazaa ages ago, it turned to utter utter shite.

Emule is your new friend:

Try getting hold of Kazaa Lite K++

The Kazaa network got slightly battered by the RIAA.

Limewire have just gone through the same thing so expect to see LOADS of people ditching that particular Gnutella client soon as they are implementing a DRM solution for sharing copyright free material ONLY.

I use eMule, Bitcomet (Torrents) and Soulseek.

Seems to be a good mix depending on what you are looking for.

Some of the P2Ps have shut up shop like WinMX and eDonkey.

This won't stop people already in possession of the software from file swapping, though.

Apparently WinMX are relocating to Vanuatu or somewhere out of reach

The music industry haven't fixed the problem just pushed it further out of reach how much money are they blowing on this, they will bleed themselves dry eventually.

edit: fixed pointless repetition of info!

I've had Kazaa Lite for yonks, I fired it up a couple of weeks ago for the first time in six months to search for a particular mp3. Seemed to work with no problem and gave me plenty of alternatives.

WinMX seems to be dead. Or at least I can't get a secondary connection to it.

Guys, Usenet for everything, and allofmp3.com for )very very cheap) music.

100% bandwidth maxxed out all the time, and you can get virtually anything you want with no hassle.
