I sent a rare mailshot (with JPG attachment) today to about 80 contacts.

From one company in particular, with three ocntacts, it bounced back as spam.

OK, it's a BCC thing. I'll send another with all three contacts in the 'To' line.

It bounces back.

OK, I'll send the same e-mail to each one of individually.

All three come back.

Feck, it must be the attachment, I'll take it off.

All three come back.

I try telephoning one of them. Voicemail.

Bollox to this, I'll send a gripe to 'webmaster@xxx.com'

It comes back.

Right, I'll try 'postmaster@xxx.com'

It comes back.

How the flying f*** do I send an an e-mail to anyone in this f***ing company, or shall I just take early f***ing retirement?

What were the reasons for it being marked as spam?

It said something like - 'rejected due to spam content'. At first the responder was my own ISP, then it changed to postmaster@xxx.com

I can quite understand them not wanting Viagra, but this is simply hindering business. It's a major manufacturing/aerospace multinational.

I expect it didn't like the first e-shot and automatically put me on a blacklist. And now I can't mail anyone to ask them to remove me...

This is because any moron can install a mailserver but most people don't even pay lip service to the standards set out for running one.

You are actually required to have a postmaster address - but many many people don't.

the same thing happened at work - since three emails from the same server were bounced as SPAM, our IP address got blacklisted. It's a fecking nightmare trying to unblacklist the IP!

Probably just being dozy here but couldn't you just use an online mail service such as yahoo or gmail to get them through.

Its probably the content of the mail. A lot of SPAM filters look for signs of SPAM certain words etc and then add up of the possible SPAM indications and then decide to classify it as SPAM or not.

If they are important to you or you know the customer you can ask to have your domain added to the white list on the SPAM server which should then stop this problem.
