Hi currently have internet from BT - 29Mb £65.99 runs out in in June.

I see I can get Sky full fibre 75Mb - £25 per month - 24 months

What am I missing ?

I also have

  • mobile phone with them at £7.50 which I believe is discounted but could change to Lebara
  • sport (viewable via sky satelite) at £26 pcm
Thanks

I don't know whether that is just round here but all the complaints I see about "wifi not working" relate to Sky customers.

The packages you have selected would suggest you are moving from FTTC to FTTP. You could also look at other providers which supply FTTC in your area, also take a look at plusnet which is part of the BT/EE group but much cheaper.

I went from BT to Sky and wasn't happy. The actual broadband service was fine, but the wifi on the supplied router was risible.

BT came as standard with a booster, Sky didn't. In the end I had to resort to one of those plug-in extenders to reach upstairs, but even that was flaky at times.

We don't have a particularly large house, just a regular three bed 1970s build semi-detached, but the wifi would not extend from the living room to my office in the spare room.I binned it off the very fist day I could and swapped to EE instead, which has been faultless (just over two months in), it includes a much better router as standard.

Yes, I know I could have solved the Sky issue by buying my own router but I don't see that I should have to, it should be just simple plug ang play.

I have recently left Sky (but for no other reason than price rises and them being unable to compete with what Plusnet offered me).

I didnt have any issues at all in the couple of years I was with them - but I did only use their router in 'router-mode' as a pass through and my wifi was serviced by my Eero mesh.

I guess why it seems a big difference is because you’re paying far too much to BT - ours has just gone over £40 with the latest price increase for 100mb ftth with phone and included calls. I do a new contract every 2 yrs.

It has gone up steadily over the years - it used to be under £30 (that was 80mb fttc).

Sky Full fibre 150 is only £24 a month. Other providers offer similar speeds at similar prices.

From my experience

I swap from BT 25mb £45 per month to a similar Sky deal you mention about a year ago.

So far work better than BT in every single way, especially the CS.

more stable and the hub have better WiFi connection than the BT hub.
