Making up aerial/satellite cable?
Discussion
Is there a certain grade of TV aerial cable I ll need when extending an existing cable?
I’m relocating my elderly mothers TV and will need to extend the cable by about 15 meters. It first feeds into this amplifier below and then to the TV. I guess I can either extend the supply cable to the amplifier or the cable from the amp to the TV, and will need to fit a satellite fixing to one end.
Will I need aerial cable or satellite cable, or are they one and the same? I ve tried searching for a ready made cable with satellite fixing one end and TV aerial fixing on the other, but no joy

For cable spec try looking for markings on the existing cable. All sorts exist.
To extend it you could get an f type to f type cable then a female/female coupler to join it.
A setup like that would usually have a TV/radio/sat splitter wall plate at the TV end, or if the TV could take a sat feed it might go direct.
F Type to TV coax cables aren't a thing as far as I know.

Is it a satellite dish or a terrestrial aerial?
Unless you have a poor aerial in a weak signal zone, you can get away with a lot of 'non optimum' cable stuff.
The TV probably has a corner of the setup menu where it will tell you signal strength and quality.
It's just terrestrial aerial. At some point the main aerial cable coming not the room has been changed to one with an f type connector on the end, maybe so it would go into the amplifier?Unless you have a poor aerial in a weak signal zone, you can get away with a lot of 'non optimum' cable stuff.

From the replies above I've ordered a 20m length of cable from Amazon with male f type connectors fitted, and a double ended female f type connector so I'll be able to disconnect the house aerial supply cable from the amp, connect that cable to the extension cable and then relocate the amp to the other end of the extension cable, and reconnect it back to the TV. At least I hope that works.
I ended up buying this 25m length of cable ready made up with saatalite connectors, and came with a female/femal connector, and 7mm panel pins. It did the trick, connecting to the supply aerial cable in my mums living room and extending to where I moved her TV to, and then went into the amplifier.
