My Phillips Hue plugs and lights have stopped working. When I look at the Alexa app it says the following?
I have an old Motorola g(7) power running Android 10, but can't see how to upgrade to 12. It says there are no updates available.

I think your device is too old.

I had to upgrade my phone because apps stopped working with no upgrade option

That's "only" Android 14 though, 16 has just been released.

The spec says 3 years of security updates, but this doesn't necessarily mean you'll get newer versions of Android.

Might be worth spending a little more on something with better support (Samsung/Pixel).

I have the G53 as I don't give a st enough about smartphone functionality to pay 8-10x the price of a G53 and it takes videos just fine for dozens of social media business accounts. That seems to be updatable beyond 12 and is just over £100.

My mum has a Samsung, when she asks for help doing something I just can't help, it just doesn't work intuitively, I wouldn't buy one for myself.

I've used Motorolas for a while and like them. They're easy to use, without too much unnecessary clutter. Whenever I need to replace I just buy the oldest one that runs the latest software version.
