EEE driving me nuts
Discussion
My internet router and the powerline socket it’s connected to are both gigabit interfaces, and I’ve switched off all power saving on both, setting them to full power. I’ve also forced the ports on my router (Fritzbox 7030 AX) to 1GB only and disabled Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE).
I can see both are working at 1GB fine. However after a period of a few weeks/randomly, one of them will drop back to 100mb. I think it’s the powerline (Devolo magic 2) that’s making the decision and once it’s switched to the lower speed, it seems reluctant to switch back. This means I’m only getting 90mb download speeds instead of 500mb my contract allows. At 1GB, I get full speed, so I know it’s not a hardware bottleneck.
So my question is, is there a way force 1GB all the time?
