Hi all,

Been a while since I've posted but need recommendations / opinions.

I have a full head of hair I just like being bald / short as possible on top. I wet shave two/three times a week but with Prime day coming up I'm looking at headshavers.....fk me I never realised there are so many.

I know nothing about them - anyone here able to vouch for any? Willing to spend whatever on one up to £300 ish.

Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

Remington (RX7?) Can use it in the shower, seems to work as one would expect - I have not tried others though.

Remington as mentioned above. Really good. 95% as good as a wet shave.

You don't need to spend £300 on one. Any £20 beard trimmer will do the job with the guard off. The internal non-replaceable battery will be knackered at the same point as any £300 one so it's a complete waste of money spending any more.

And forget the corded Wahl ones that the barbers use. I got one and it went rusty in 3 months and also cut my scalp to ribbons.

And the curved ones are ste too !

I think if you want to be properly shiny bald then you can’t beat a wet shave with a normal razor and you also get to save £300. Nothing with teeth will ever get as close as a straight blade IMO. The blades are also now so good I can’t remember the last time I cut myself. Actually, I can, it was when I tried one of those ‘devices’ which you hold between your fingers and which pop up on social media advertising. It was like taking the peel off an apple. Never again.

I was wet shaving every other day, missus bought me a "skullshaver" I think its called, replace the blades every 12 months (think they recommend every 6 months)

its not quite as short as wet shaving but its a hell of a lot quicker. I tend to do it every other day unless I'm going out somewhere on the day its not due.

Being a seasoned slaphead, I've tried most balding shavers, from expensive to cheap. My go to was the Remington, then when the last set wore out, I went cheap and bought one of these, turns out to be superior in every way, for a third of the price:

I concur. I won’t be getting a Perm anytime soon. I lumped-on for a Remington RX and it was useless. I complained to Spectrum Brands UK and they were rude, obtuse, nonchalant and downright belligerent. I ended up having to litigate against them on the small claims track as a point of amusement and principal. Their defence, I’d used their product to shave my head and my hair was more than 0.2mm long.

I bought a Rossifur 6 in 1 from Amazon and it’s brilliant. I’ve never looked balder. Think it was about £25. It’s a power-house.

Spectrum Brands.UK finally settled on the Court Steps. I’ll never be touching a Remington again.

As a fellow baldy, I was using a Remington RX-5 for about 2 years before the battery started to die. It was very good, sometimes gave a bit of rash but definitely cut close.

When the battery went, I went old school - shaving gel and a 5 blade razor. I would never go back now, wet shaving just feels much more satisfying and takes maybe 5 minutes every other day instead of 2 minutes with the Remington.

If you want the ultimate shave that will get as close as possible you need one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/M%C3%9CHLE-Rocca-Stainles...

I also have the Remington RX5 for holidays and I have been surprised by how much of a close shave I get from that thing. It's probably just as close as a cartridge wet shave, it's only good for head shaving though.

IMO, as a shaver of 20 years, a wet shave is the best, I’ve gone to a Skull shaver now, because for some reason my head started to cut easily?

Wet shave in the bath is the quickest and the best IMO.

Oh, and check out Lidls Kein 5 bladed razor, as good as anything I’ve tried smile
