as I won a little on the Premium Bonds I decided to spend it on an upgrade to my Galaxy TabS7+ I knew that Samsung had increased the size of their tablets somewhat but I was a little taken aback when look back at me from the Samsung store was a Tab 10 Ultra, in a (to me) scarcely believable 14.6" biggrin

Ok the list price was a few hundred more than I had won, but there was more - they're currently running a trade-in. ANY android smartphone is worth £200 off - ditto any Samsung tablet... what's more, it seems as if you can combine these 2 offers AND get a keyboard/cover for said Tab (listed at £200 instore). Happy days!! It just arrived today and I have to say that it is a bit of a monster - but ideal for what I want/need it for, namely watching films (and some surfing) on our forthcoming holidays/fights biggrin

My wife's S8+ was getting a bit old in the tooth and she started to use my S8 ultra but didn't like the bigger screen as it was unwieldy for her. So got her an S10FE+ (as it was same size as the S8), traded in the S8+ and took advantage of the free keyboard case. All in, around 450 quid for a new Tablet and more importantly happy wife = happy life biggrin

Would you prefer it over a 16inch laptop for consuming video and other media?

I bought the Tab S8 Ultra when it first came out, is a beautiful thing and still working perfectly. I use nova launcher on that and my phone and then sync the setup between the two. With all the messaging apps and the ability to make calls, it's just a massive version of my phone for scrolling on the sofa. Or a full on laptop replacement and everything in between.

Currently have a 17" laptop which i pretty much live on, the Tab is mainly for holidays - though it's a size where I'm more likely to use it a little more at home. Mind you we've just bought a 34" wide-screen for the desktop in the study (mrs DG is a little pissed at me for that "... it's too big... " or some such similar nonsense hehe )

I've had a curved 34" screen for work at home for a few years now. It's truly excellent, but a slippery slope. - I caught myself looking at 37" ones this week!

I took my S8 Ultra on holiday and wished I hadn't. Hot damn, is it heavy. And it also won't really fit on many a plane table.

I got a S9 Plus for more mobile stuff, but would've disposed of it if I hadn't been able to sort out the reflectiveness which made it borderline unusable. The official screen protector does a decent job taming it.

The S10 is v good in that aspect, but I wanted to emulate stuff on it and that one's processor is much worse for it.
