Amazon Fire TV Stick not working

Mine is about 6 years old.

All I get now when starting it up is a black screen with Fire TV on it and three dots below that.

I've had a look online and tried most of the suggestions but there does seem to be a body of opinion that Firesticks will pack up after a few years with overheating often being the cause.

Has anyone on here had this problem and did you manage to fix it?

My very first one did this, I just replaced it.

Well I've tried just about everything without success so a new 4g one is on order

I had two of the older ones do the same, the newer ones seem ok, they are cheap enough. Ive had the 4k one for a couple of years now and touch wood its been ok.
