Landline phone for a digital line

My wife has just had her line upgraded by BT at work to the new digital service.
However, she needs a landline phone with it's own answering machine (so not using BT 1571).
Can any DECT phone work with the new digital service or does it have to be a specific type?

My 10 year old Panasonic DECT phones work fine with BT Voice including the answer phone.
