I'm not a gamer. Monitor gets used for macbook air and work laptop connection.

I'm after a nice new monitor, decent res, decently wide (doesn't have to be ultrawide but would be good if poss) and the best refresh rate for my usage scenario (again, not a gamer!).

Probably aiming to spend maybe £500-700 or could go a bit higher for the right thing.

Your recommendations please! TIA

Not sure you need to spend that much - I got the LG Ultra-wide 34" - It is very good and great value

The one above looks like great value, once you go above 34", the price seems to shoot up.

I have a couple of 32 inch curved ViewSonic monitors side by side - about £200 each 3 years ago. I'd go for the same size again.

If you can reach a bit further than the cost of a 21:9 unit, it's worth considering a 32:9 Super-Ultrawide for 'productivity' use.

Having the real estate of basically 2x typical widescreens is very useful for actual work and mimics a familiar office setup.

A bit out of your budget, but I've got a 49" Dell Ultrawide and it's excellent. The 34" version is just within your budget though.

(Well the same but from a couple of years ago.)

Excellent things.

I've had Dell monitors for probably the last 20 years. Always been impressed with their overall quality.

I use a Lenovo Thinkvision P40w-20

It has TB4, so I just plug my MacBook Pro in with one cable and it charges and any peripherals connected to the monitor are presented to the Mac (Camera, Ethernet etc). I can do the same with a Windows laptop.

It can go up to 5120 x 2160 at 75hz, but I run it at 3840 x 1620 on my Mac.

It's huge. I love it.

I think there's a new one on the horizon, so you might be able to get a good deal on the P40w-20.

Got my son one of these for his birthday, he uses it for his computer and also connected to his PS5 via a HDMI switch for gaming. Good quality, nice colour detail, 4K resolution, and £300 so well under your budget. Reviews are very good too, which is why I went for it.
