AI animated photos

Does anyone have any experience with these apps/platforms which uses AI to animate photos?

By this, I mean taking an old photo and bringing it to life through animation.

I have seen these advertised on social media but am sceptical about the actual quality. I thought it would be a nice thing to play around with at Xmas with the family, ie show animations of old family photos. I am mindful about the emotional aspect of this, ie animate family members who are no longer here, so I’d keep it to those still alive.

I have used Gemini (signed up for free 30 day trial, last week)

I took some old photos of my grandparents from WW2. It has done some amazing stuff....except one image it managed to animate my grandad using a mobile phone whilst in front of his Sherman tank in North Africa.

It does a great job of restoring the photos too.
