How do I force my Samsung tablet to show the full qwerty keyboard?
Most of the time, it will display the full keyboard as soon as I tap the screen over somewhere that input is possible.
However, if it thinks that that part of the screen is only for numeric input, it will just display the numeric keypad.
This works well nearly all of the time.
However, sometimes a numeric "field" needs me to type a minus sign, and the on-screen numeric keypad doesn't have one.
I can't see a way of forcing it to switch to qwerty, or at least a full numeric keyboard rather than the "telephone keypad" style.
Any ideas?

Same problem on my iPhone, so not just an Android thing.
