Looking for some advice/ experiences.

I’m currently paying a monthly subscription for Office 365 but it feels like a waste because I’m seeing a lot of deals for Office 2024 for under £20 with Groupon amongst other places.

The main use is for my daughter to use for school and she’s not a heavy user at all.

Is there any negative to these cheap office 2024 deals online?

Bought one myself a couple of months back. They are usually superfluous licenses from corporate deals

I think the only downsides are that they do not come with updates and you don't get the O365 bells and whistles. What you do get is bang up to date, fully functional, activated software. Perfect for home use

Eco keys worked well for me having seen a recommendation here.
One off cost easy to download and install.
They even offer an email helpline.

CD keys, any of those, Office pro plus, £19,95. You can go older (no light user will know or care which version of Word they are using) for around £6

Is it just me or do Microsoft products get worse and worse?

How many times do I have to keep paying for Office?

I don't want to have an account with Microsoft of pay a monthly subscription.

I just want basic Word, Excel and Outlook. I was quite happy with the 1997 and 2000 versions.

Vote here for Ecokeys - £20 for Office 2024. Not cloud based, all I'll ever need. Installed no problem - just follow the instructions supplied.

Thanks all for the replies, I have bought one off Groupon and with a coupon it came to around £9. I was slightly dubious about it but I went through the whole process of uninstalling Office 365 and buying a key for Office 2024 Professional and to my surprise it has all worked perfectly.

I don't know if it is missing some bells and whistles but for my daughters high school homework it will do fine, nice to drop another subscription fee every month too

Don’t forget to plan how to back up her files, no one want to be in the I’ve lost/broken/spilt tea/it’s been stolen place with no access to her data.
