The charging port on my 9th Gen iPad isn’t connecting up well.
Probably through dropping it with the cable in. It can connect if I wiggle the cable about but not very well.
I’ve tried a new cable and cleaning the port out. I’m running out of storage space on it anyway so if it means a new port I’d just buy a new one but is there anything I can way I can get it to connect better for a bit longer?
“ Check if the centre Lightning tongue is bent
Shine a flashlight inside.
You should see a thin central metal tab. If it’s slightly bent:
• Very gently nudge it back with a plastic toothpick.
• Don’t force it — it’s fragile.
A drop with the cable plugged in can twist that tab slightly, causing the wiggle behaviour”

There isn't a central tongue inside a lightning port. There are 8 contacts on one side. If you can see if one or more of these is bent down you can try to stand them back up.
There is also clip on each side but they are harder to straighten if they've been bent and it's harder to tell.

Is there inductive charging on iPads?
No iPad offers wireless/inductive charging of the iPad itself - which I think is a pity. The only 'inductive charging' on any of them is to support charging of an Apple Pencil. Here's an ifixit guide to the 9th gen (2021) iPad...

Yes you can replace both the port and flexible ribbon that connects to the mainboard. The charge port replacement comes with the flex to the mainboard, but it does need to be soldered into place, if you have no experience then you will need to have a repair shop do this for you.
Maybe these can help?

Try a magnetic lightning to USB C adapter - you might be able to shim it so it's a tight fit in the iPad port & then you can just snap on & off the magnetic cable connector when charging & leave the other part in the charging port. I find the straight ones work well on my USB C ports but the right angle ones were unreliable.
