Virgin V360 Upgrade

Morning all. I've gone for the upgrade to V360 on Virgin and they have said that they are sending a new TV remote by post. What I'm confused about, is are they sending a new box or is it a software update?? We have the smaller VM box at present.

IFAIK its just a software upgrade. I've got a V6 box and they keep pestering me to 'upgrade' but I don't want to lose the recording capabilities. My TV covers streaming just fine already

if you don't want to lose all your recorded things then don't upgrade. I learnt the hard way and it really annoyed me that i lost all the movies that i had recorded and planned to watch.
I didn't like the new layout or the remote but im used to it now. The only good feature is the voice command and that's it.

If i could downgrade I would.. but i dont think you can.

...and the software upgrade will not work on all boxes.

My uncle is still waiting for his upgrade to complete about 11 months after complaining it didn't work...and after trying the forced update process he was walked through. Still waiting for an engineer or new box to be sent...but I've told him not to complain too quickly as I liked the old system better - and am not actually sure what the benefit of V360 upgrade was to me as it seems to run slower, require more clicks to do stuff, removes some of the programme info I used to see, and I'm sure the recording quality has degraded.

i think the only 2 benfits i can see are
- voice activated commands, press a button on the remote and you can tell it which channel.
- most channels you can choose to either watch it live or from the start. But some of them (like bbc, or itv) need you to sign in to do from the start! ridiculous!
