Not exactly a gadget I know. But I was given a Braun shaver a few years back which came with a 'Smartcare' unit. A combined charger and cleaning unit that contains a bottle of fluid you have to replace every few months.

Sounds a bit OTT but works really well. Except that now I have to replenish the cleaning fluid constantly, I think the unit gets blocked with debris from the shaver so the fluid doesn't drain back into the reservoir and ends up evaporating.
Has anyone else had this issue? Is there an way of cleaning the unit internally?

I have the Braun series 9000 with the cleaning gadget. Never used it.
I just run it under the hot water tap after use. It s waterproof so can t see why I need to use a gadget to do such a simple task.
In actual fact I m moving house this week and found it in one of my man drawers and threw it in the bin.

The point is that putting the shaver into the cleaning/charging unit is actually simpler than plugging a lead in to recharge it.I just run it under the hot water tap after use. It s waterproof so can t see why I need to use a gadget to do such a simple task.

I disagree. I only need to charge it about once every month. Just plugs into a 2 pin socket, which seems much easier than clogging up an area with the monstrosity of that cleaning box.
